Lock Nut is also called Locknuts, Bearing lock nut. In the process of using lock nuts, various problems are usually encountered. Today, we mainly list common problems and how to solve them.
The lock nut cannot be locked with the external thread
1. Whether the internal and external thread distances match; check whether the internal and external threads are the same.
2. Whether the effective diameter of the thread meets the tolerance; whether the external thread is used the same.
3. Whether the appearance of the internal and external thread profiles is damaged and burrs are generated; whether the external thread is damaged or burred, use a triangular diamond knife to remove it
4. Whether the left and right rotation of the internal and external threads match; whether the left and right rotation of the internal and external threads are the same.
5. Whether the nominal outer diameter of the internal and external threads matches; use a vernier caliper to check whether the inner and outer diameters are of the same specification size
6. Whether the outer diameter of the external thread is too large, use a micrometer keyway to align the outer diameter size.
7. Whether the tooth profile of the external thread is standard, use an optical projector to check whether its tooth profile is 60 degrees
After the locking nut is locked with the external thread, it cannot be disassembled
1. Whether the locking thread of the nut is loosened. When disassembling the locking nut, it should be remembered that even after loosening the screw, the locking nut is still not loosened. Use a copper rod to gently tap the nut near the screw to loosen the locking copper, and then the nut can be removed effortlessly.
2. Whether the internal and external thread profiles are cleaned. Clean the internal and external threads and add lubricating oil before use. Clean the surface of the external thread and add lubricating oil before disassembly. Clean the surface of the external thread and add lubricating oil before disassembly.
3. Whether the appearance of the external thread is damaged; visually check whether the appearance of the tooth profile has been hit. If so, please use a triangular knife to clean it and then polish it with fine sandpaper
The locking nut is easy to loosen after being locked with the external thread
1. The matching tolerance of the effective diameter of the internal and external threads is large; check whether the effective diameter of the external thread is too small (it is recommended that the spindle PD value is about 0.01 to 0.07mm smaller and the ball screw PD value is about 0.04 to 0.09mm smaller).
2. Use inappropriate nut types; use different nut types according to different machine models.
3. Is the screw fixed: After the nut is locked, the screw must be fixed to confirm.
The accuracy of the locking nut and the external thread is poor after locking
1. Is the external thread perpendicular to the center line of the axis? When turning or grinding the external thread, pay attention to its accuracy and manufacturing process.
2. The three-point screw copper of the nut is not locked correctly. First, the screws should be gently locked in separately until the locking copper fits the thread, and then each screw is locked in sequence and evenly.
3. Is the nut locking tool selected correctly? Do not use improper tools to knock, and use a torque wrench to tighten
4. Are the internal and external threads clean? Clean the internal and external threads and add a little lubricating oil before use.
